These ways are based on my experience. I had got approximately over 1000 followers within just 5 days. And around 6 k or 7 k followers in 30 days.

Below are the ways to get followers in Instagram.
1) Be active in Instagram
First of all you want to be active in instagram at least 30 minutes in a day. If you are not active in a day, there is a great chance to unfollow you. So be active.
2) Use an Instagram username which is easily readable
You want to set an Instagram username which is easily readable. Use a username which is not lengthy and avoid excessive using of underscore (_) and dots (.) , It is more useful to mention you in stories. If you use username with very length and excess symbols, it is very difficult to write your username for searching and mentioning.
3) Follow some costumes or users with heavy followers
They may not follow you, but you don't unfollow them. Because if you follow them there is a chance to get followers.
Their followers use the list of their followers to follow, so you will be included in it and you get followers.
Put their posts in your story and ask them to mention you in their stories. Their followers will follows you.
4) Like and comment the posts of your Followings who give great supports
Like the posts of your Followings who give great supports. Enter great comments. Use single word comments, use great emoji.
5) Share other's posts
Share other's posts maximum.
Ask them to share your posts maximum when you put new posts.
And also share your posts to many users to get more likes.
6) Make good relations with other users who had good followers
Make good relations with other active users in instagram who had good followers. Put their posts in your story. They will mention it in their stories.
And also send your posts to them, they will put in their stories, then mention it in your stories.
By making good relation with instagram heavy users, you can ask them the ways to get more likes and followers. Ask them to include you in supporting groups. It will helps you get more likes and followers. Members in that groups supports you, but you also must support them.
7) Use an Unfollowing app
It will not increase the number of your followers, but you can unfollow your followers who are unfollowed you. It will helps to decrease your followings.
Keep in mind, your followers must higher than your followings. Otherwise, your followers unfollows you.
8) Unfollow some of your Followings periodically
To become the number of your followers is higher than your followings, you must unfollow some of your followings periodically.
For this goto your Followings, and unfollow your followings,
a) who are not active for 30 days
b) who has higher number of Followings than Followers
Don't Unfollow otherwise.
